Resolve Asbestos Management specialise in asbestos surveys. An Asbestos survey will help you to comply with current legislation and to determine if you need to manage or safely remove asbestos containing materials in your premises. Our surveys will provide accurate information regarding the location, amount and type of any ACMs (asbestos-containing materials).
Our asbestos surveys can help to provide information for your risk assessments and a management plan. Asbestos survey will commonly involve analysis of materials to determine the presence of asbestos. Our asbestos surveys are carried out by competent surveyors.
We work throughout the UK, including Blackpool, Preston, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Chester for more information see areas we cover.
Current asbestos regulations, The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 place a legal duty on premises owners and/or employers to take steps to firstly identify, monitor, manage or remove ACMs asbestos containing materials within the property.
Regulations have been put in place due to known carcinogens in asbestos that cause a severe health risk when airborne.
There are two types of survey referred to in the Health and Safety Executive asbestos survey guide HSG264; management surveys & refurbishment and demolition surveys.

To provide accurate information on the location, quantity & condition of ACMs (asbestos-containing materials).
To provide an assessment to the level of deterioration or damage to any ACMs and determine if remedial action is required.
To prepare a record of the locations of ACMs asbestos, also referred to as an asbestos register, and/or asbestos plan of the building(s).
To help identify all the ACMs which need to be removed prior to demolition or refurbishment work.
Resolve surveyors are RSPH (Royal Society for Public Health) Level 3 Certified we produce documents accordance with HSG264 and HSG227.
Following an asbestos survey we will provide a comprehensive written report comprising a detailed and assessment of the property.
The report also provides recommendations which are prioritised for action highlighting problem areas which need to be rectified, helping you to comply with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and strengthen your existing asbestos management plans.
The type of survey will vary during the lifespan of the premises and several may be needed over time.
An asbestos management survey will be required during the normal occupation and use of the building to ensure continued management of the asbestos containing materials (ACMs) in situ.
A refurbishment or demolition asbestos survey will be necessary when the building (or part of it) is to be upgraded, refurbished or demolished.
In larger premises a mixture of survey types is commonly required, for example, a heating/boiler house due for demolition will need a refurbishment/demolition survey, while offices in the same location would require an asbestos management survey.
Following this, refurbishment surveys may be required in rooms which are being renovated. Where there are large numbers of properties (e.g. domestic houses) or internal units (such as hotels), only individual rooms/units may be specified for upgrading, for example, bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens. Refurbishment surveys would only be required in these locations.
